On Monday, December 17, 2007, the Krewe of the Black Swan "invaded" the Lake Magdalene Children's Services facility. No prisoners were taken. All the children (and adults) were mercilessly "beaded." Thanks to the fantastic contributions of Alyssa Katz and Kathy Wheelen, these kids each got some wonderful toys and collectively got toys they can all share.

For some of these kids, this will be their only Christmas. There wasn't a single one of them that didn't appreciate the efforts of"those crazy pirates." We kept seeing one little lady everywhere we went. Took us most of the night to realize she was a twin. There were a lot of other "charmers" there too. Some of the little gentlemen could really lay on the moves when they wanted some more beads from us.

While the entire evening was great, the best part was when they sought out their favorite pirate and gave them a handmade Christmas card. And that is the booty we took from this invasion!!!
