Gro Group

If you ever wondered about those plants that grace our highways and government buildings, wonder no more. There is a group of mentally and physically challenged individuals that can take a stick and nurture it back to health and into a tree. These special people make up the Gro Group.

Kathy Wheelen has been a strong supporter of this group and has always allowed us to dress up as pirates and "bead" the group. The Kiwanis Club of Tarpon Springs put on a BBQ for them and city workers every spring. Each year it has grow in popularity. The first year we were able to park right in front. Now there's no room and we're parking down the road.

The Gro Group members are always glad to see the pirates.
