SUPER BOWL

ESPN GameDay

This was the highlight of the Super Bowl event for the krewe. We were featured in four separate shots during the show.

The show is hosted by Chris Berman, with analysts Cris Carter, Mike Ditka, Tom Jackson, Keyshawn Johnson and Chris Mortensen along with Monday Night Football ‘s Mike Tirico, ex-Super Bowl quarterbacks Trent Dilfer, Ron Jaworski and Steve Young and live reports from Suzy Kolber (covering Arizona) and Ed Werder (covering Pittsburgh).

ESPN wanted pirates to take the Super Bowl "picks" of the commentators and hide them for the show. At the end of the show we were to bring them back so they could be presented on air. Our first "episode" aired about 10:15 a.m. There were two other shots of us as they went to commercial. Then at the end of the show, we had our next "episode". Here are the YouTube links to all four.

It started out as a lovely cruise with a bunch of us casually dressed in pirate outfits.

Sure we had a treasure chest. Doesn't everyone?!

We were just motoring along...

Brett was leading the way...

Tracie and Michele were ... well, they were just sitting there.

So we decided to see the sites.

No one was on the water

So with nothing else to do and some time to kill, we took the Commentators Super Bowl "picks" for safe keeping.

After taking the "picks" for safe keeping, we need to find a safe place. We took them to Rick's on the Waterfront.

When it was time to bring them back, someone was curious and took a peak...

We headed back. Steve had to get "mic'd up" for his looooong run from the boat to the stage. Oxygen was ready. Paramedics were on standby !!! While he got ready, we took pictures. We did the pirate thing and posed with a lot of tourist too.

After Steve's "run", we met him outside the stage area.

THE END of a fantastic day. Oh yea, there was a football game later.
